DESCRIPTION
Our Client is currently looking for a Production Manager for a permanent position based in Bahrain.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Ensuring operational excellence, including production, quality control/assurance, energy efficiency, maintenance, capital projects, environmental, health & safety issues, & personnel development.
Providing leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the asphalt plant & lab facilities.
* The preparation and optimization of asphalt mix designs.
* Ensuring production & performance in line with the company quality management plan.
* Overall supervision, planning and control of the project.
* Monitoring of work progress as per construction planned schedule and overseeing from time to time.
* Supervising all on-site productions including land clearing, excavation, utilities laying, sub-grade/sub-base laying, asphalt laying, asphalt paving. Ensuring its implementation in alignment with the project plans and within the specified budget.
* Working closely with quality personnel to review product consistency for road works in accordance with local and international standards.
* Ensuring all operations are being held as per the standard construction methods & procedures and comply with standards & regulations, taking all safety precautions, permits and licenses prior to work.
* Calculation of cost, estimates, budgets, and schedules.
* Monitoring operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
* Working closely with the Health and Safety Department to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our employees.
* Ensuring calibration of plant and equipment is up to date.
* Analyzing workforce requirements.
* Encouraging and promoting operating in a continuous improvement environment.
* Providing leadership and managing the unit/program/department; making decisions; solving problems; developing unit procedures records and files; representing unit/department/program at internal and external meetings.
* Developing performance expectations, identifying essential functions and knowledge, skills and abilities required; assigning work shifts.
* Managing and evaluating employees and team performance; providing new employee orientation; training or providing adequate training for employees; coaching, counseling and motivating employees.
* Coordinating with Ministry of Works, Material Engineering Directorate staff in regard to day to day asphalt production, yearly re approval of all asphalt mixes.
* Forwarding annual reports on consumption & stock positions of Chemicals to Ministry of Environment.
* Quality checking as needed, on Askar Crusher production materials.
* Keeping records on aggregate consumption and stock position in plant.
* Raising purchase indents for aggregates supply to plant.
* General administration of plant including petty cash dealings, look in to the need of purchase of spare parts as well as general items.

The ideal candidate will have:

* A degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent.
* A minimum of 10 years' experience in Asphalt production.
* Hands on experience in Asphalt mixing, emulsion, bitumen, asphalt paving, testing, laboratory, sub-grade/sub-base laying, and road-based construction.
* Experience in QA and QC.
* A technically strong background.
* Excellent leadership skills and knowledge on the latest technology and procedures in Asphalt.
* Familiarity with ISO procedures.
* Good correspondence efficiency.
